Dr. Hassan Kinyua Omari poses with TSC leadership and invited guests during the TSC Prayer Day 2026 at TSC Headquarters, Nairobi (13 January 2026).

Nairobi, Kenya – 13 January 2026. Dr. Hassan Kinyua Omari, Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies at the University of Nairobi, participated in the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Annual Interdenominational Prayer Service held at TSC House Headquarters (3rd Floor Podium, Open Space). The Prayer Day was convened under the theme “Pressing on to a Higher Mark” drawn from Philippians 3:13–14.

The programme ran from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., bringing together faith leaders and the wider TSC fraternity for a morning of praise, worship, interdenominational prayers, and reflections on service, ethics, and excellence in the teaching profession. The schedule included opening prayers by different faith associations, interdenominational prayers featuring a Sheikh and a Priest, and a key message delivered by Bishop Kepha Omae (LCC) as guest speaker.

During the interdenominational segment, Dr. Kinyua delivered a devotion centered on the dignity of teaching as a sacred trust and the responsibility of educators to nurture character, values, and national transformation. Drawing from Qur’anic principles on personal accountability, striving, justice, and excellence, he emphasized that sustainable progress in education is built through integrity, disciplined effort, and ethical leadership—virtues that align strongly with TSC’s mandate of professional standards in the teaching service.

The Prayer Day further featured musical ministry and worship led by the TSC Choir and concluded with thanksgiving and a benediction, reinforcing a collective commitment to unity, professionalism, and renewed purpose in national service.
