Dr. Hassan Kinyua Omari represented Kenya as a featured speaker at the 6th Africa International Translation Conference (AITC 2026), held at Villa Rosa Kempinski, Nairobi. The conference was organized by the East Africa Interpreters and Translators Association (EAITA) in collaboration with leading regional language institutions.

Dr. Hassan Kinyua Omari, Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies at the University of Nairobi, participated in the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Annual Interdenominational Prayer Service held at TSC House Headquarters (3rd Floor Podium, Open Space). The Prayer Day was convened under the theme “Pressing on to a Higher Mark” drawn from Philippians 3:13–14.

Faith in Harmony: UoN Symposium Explores Peace and Justice through Christian and Islamic Lenses

On June 19, 2025, the University of Nairobi’s Department of Philosophy and religious studies in collaboration with the International Institute for Islamic Studies, hosted a symposium themed “Peace and Justice: From Christian and Islamic Perspectives.” Held at UoN Towers, MLT 405, the half-day event brought together students, scholars, and religious leaders for dialogue on faith and justice.

Bridging Faiths Through Dialogue: Scriptural Reasoning at the University of Nairobi

On June 24th, 2025, the 8-4-4 Block at the University of Nairobi Main Campus hosted a Scriptural Reasoning session under the theme “Religious Pluralism and Respect.” The event, organized by the University of Nairobi, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies in collaboration with Harmony Institute, brought together students, faith leaders, and scholars for a meaningful evening of interreligious dialogue centered on sacred texts.

On June 10th, 2025 at University of Nairobi Main Campus, Dr. Hassan Kinyua Omari, Senior Lecturer Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, delivered a special presentation at the University of Nairobi, unpacking the Islamic Perspective on Happiness, a concept rooted in Faith, Purpose, and the Holistic Well-being of the soul, mind, and society. 

RELIGIOUS LEGITIMACY AND MORAL LEADERSHIP IN A FAITH GOVERNED SOCIETY

On 31st May 2025, Dr. Hassan Kinyua Omari representing the University of Nairobi - Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, and the Muslim Professionals League Africa, he explored the spiritual and political dimensions of religious leadership as envisioned by Iman Khomeini and Ayatullah Khamenei. The event was hosted by the Cultural Centre for the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

 

The title of the presentation was "Religious Legitimacy and Moral Authority of Leadership in a faith Governed Society".
