The travel course seminar had a theme: 'TOWARDS UNDERSTANDING OTHER CULTURES' . It was attended by 25 MA students, Two PhD students and Two Professors  from Princeton Theological College. Members of staff from the department of Philosophy and Religious studies and Students also attended in large numbers.  

The Role of Public Services in Building a Just, Inclusive and Equal Society; Arts Competition Award Ceremony

The Art Competitions Award Ceremony was held on Saturday 18th November 2023, by UON Centre for Human Rights and Peace (CHRP) in partnership with Global Initiative for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (GI-ESCR), “We are here to reward excellence in art messaging, and awareness creation. The competition does not have losers, we are all winners by virtue of participation”, said the Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Kiama as he commended all the participants, in his speech that was presented by the Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Jack Odhiambo.

Unveiling African Concepts of Sexuality

UON Center of Human Rights and Peace (CHRP), hosted an eye-opening colloquium on African sexualities: traditions, perspectives and human rights, on Tuesday 21st November 2023. The colloquium was held in partnership with the Trust for Indigenous Culture and Health (TICAH) and the Kenya Legal & Ethical Issues Network on HIV and AIDS (KELIN). The event brought together a diverse panel of experts, including legal scholars, theologians, and anthropologists, to shed light on the complex interplay between tradition, religion, and human rights.


Mrs Rebecca Murigu Lecturer at the department, and also the Chairperson Nairobi School Board of Management, receiving the President Dr. William Ruto at Nairobi School. The president was laying foundation to the school science complex and the the commissioning of a dormitory.
