Mrs Rebecca Murigu Lecturer at the department, and also the Chairperson Nairobi School Board of Management, receiving the President Dr. William Ruto at Nairobi School. The president was laying foundation to the school science complex and the the commissioning of a dormitory.

On March 16th 2023 the department of Philosophy and Religious Studies in Collaboration with Nagel Institute held a one day workshop on African Value Communality and Alternative Kinship Project findings dissemination. The workshop was attended by eighteen participants.
Dr. Gurcharan Singh, adjunct research professor in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at Carleton University paid a courtesy call on the Chair of the Department of Philosophy, Prof. Karori Mbugua. Amongst other things, they discussed possible collaboration between Carleton University and the University of Nairobi, especially in the area of Sikh Studies.
The African Association for the Study of Religions (AASR) invites proposals for individual papers, panels, roundtables, and poster presentations for its biennial conference to be held at the University of Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya from 2-4 August 2023.
